Eye Exams for Children, Adults & Seniors

OHIP covers annual routine eye exams for children and youth under 19. Adults 65 years old and above are entitled to one exam every 18 months, with two follow-ups for minor assessments.

Regular eye exams are essential for tracking your child’s development in school and their daily lives. Routine eye exams are especially important for seniors to catch and manage age-related eye diseases as early as possible.

Eligibility for OHIP coverage for eye care will be determined on your exam date. Our team is focused on providing quick and timely access to care with diagnostic testing for diagnosis and prevention.
